"AI will not replace humans, but it will change their role" — Yevgeny Pitolin

At the international forum Digital Almaty 2025, a panel session titled "AI — Architect of the Future" was held to discuss the role of artificial intelligence in the modern world. Experts examined whether AI can replace humans or if it will remain an assistant.

The moderator of the discussion highlighted key aspects of AI development and its impact on the professional sphere and society as a whole.

Leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and innovation participated in the discussion, including representatives from government bodies, technology companies, and the scientific community. Among the participants were Ekaterina Smyshlyaeva, a member of the Mazhilis, Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Olzhas Ukenov, the founder and managing partner of Almak Capital (UAE); Senura Abeywardena (online), the head of public policy in Central Asia and Sri Lanka at Meta; Dulat Atabek, the head of quantitative research at Atlas Capital Management; Alina Gutoreva, an associate professor of cognitive sciences at Kazakh-British Technical University; and Dana Nursultanova, the CEO of Geometry and co-founder of MetaBI.

Speakers discussed how artificial intelligence is changing our reality and the opportunities it presents to businesses, governments, and society.

At the end of the panel session, Yevgeny Pitolin summarized the discussion, noting that despite the rapid development of AI, it is humans who determine its applications, control functional boundaries, and regulate its permissible use. It is not about replacing humans but about co-transformation and collaboration with technology.

With the growing influence of AI, there is an increasing demand for specialists in data analysis, algorithmic development, and futurology. Mastery of analytical thinking and mathematics becomes a key factor for success.

Automation of routine processes is inevitable, but the ability to analyze scenarios, make unconventional decisions, and adapt to changes remains a unique human competence. In education, medicine, and business, a personalized approach becomes a premium service. Basic tasks will be transferred to algorithms, and personalized consultations will gain special value.

The future cannot be predicted with precision, but it can be modeled. Those who can develop development scenarios and adapt to changes will remain in demand in a world where AI becomes an integral part of the technological environment, summarized Yevgeny Pitolin.
